Seasoned music producer/entrepreneur, Cameron McCoy, also known as Chef K-Dot, was born and raised in Detroit, MI in the early 80’s when the culture of Hip-Hop was quickly developing. His love for poetry, battle rapping and beat-making formed early on while attending M.L. King High School, and his first pieces of music equipment was a 64-key Yamaha keyboard and a fresh boom box. K-Dot found himself on the independent record label Kortyard Entertainment as an artist and in-house producer in the year 2000. In 2007, he established KitCH’N Muzik, LLC which served as an imprint for his instrumentals. Creating original beats with occasional sampling, he worked with an array of artists including M.U., King Blue, Nametag, Mic Phelps, Ro Spit, Nick Varcity, and Stretch Money among others. Never one to shy away from a battle, whether it’s bars or beats, he placed 3rd in Detroit’s iStandard beat battle in July 2019, earning the right to participate in their yearly national tournament “Beasts of the Beats” in December 2019. Aside from music, K-Dot earned a B.A.S. in Sociology and Master’s degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University. Combining that education with a desire to give back to communities, he mentored and tutored youth from grades K to 12, hosted a water drive in Flint, MI for the residents suffering from the water crises, and hosted several Christmas drives for children and young men.

K-Dot is currently gearing up for the release of his mixtape series, The Grindaholic: Great Lakes Royalty. He’s also developing an exclusive t-shirt line “The Grindaholic Collection” that represents the hustlas and go-getters of today’s world. The Chef is focused on bringing together innovative musicianship while positively impacting lives worldwide via authentic social change. This New Joint Is Straight Sauce!
