Hailing from Alton Illinois, Rapper & media personality Marvia Lawrence has plans on putting his name in the history books. Right next to other famous Alton natives like the legendary Jazz trumpeter Miles Davis, or more infamously the convicted assassin or Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. one Lee Harvey Oswald.  His music is best described as reality rap and his lyrical content can be compared to few well known artist like T.I., Boosie Badass or Don Trip however his style is a blend of his early influences like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and more notably, local legends Roq & Caly Cal.
Lawrence formally knows as Scorpio partnered with Money Making Mitch Foster to form Venom in 2004.  By 2007 Venom was well on its way as one of the most respected underground rap label in the area.  The release of the A-Town Mixtape solidified their grip on the top spot in the city started to make noise outside of the area.  Lawrence (known as Scorpio at the time) took advantage of the buzz by dropping Touchdown Volumes 1 & 2 in 2008 and 2009 respectively.  At the height of his initial success Lawrence’s blossoming career and record label was derailed by legal complications that resulted in a short prison stint for the entertainer.  Since his release Lawrence has put out projects titled Planet X, Doom’s Day and Stay Real, but it wasn’t until his R&B collaborative album One Night in A-Town was released earlier this year that it was clear the artist formally known as Scorpio was back in the driver seat.  Known by his fans and haters alike as the King of Da A (KODA), Lawrence is just dropped his national debut studio album titled Ready at last night. The sauce had to tune it! The homie out here putting in work!!  The lead singles Hard Times & Game of Thrones are available on all platforms.  He saucing right now.
